BASS LAKE (KFSN) -- Local resort destinations are cashing in on Independence Day as thousands of families are looking to celebrate the holiday and take in some fireworks at places like Bass Lake.

"We're really excited for the Fourth of July weekend," Michelle Miller with Miller's Landing said. "It's kind of like our Super Bowl. The crowds are already here. They've been here all weekend."

Michelle runs Miller's Landing along with her husband Kevin. If you're looking to rent a boat or any other watercraft, they're the people to talk to in Bass Lake.

Thanks to record water levels, that should keep business afloat for years to come.

"We're definitely seeing an increase in numbers this year, and people are really excited to see the lake full," Michelle said. "There were families that actually went to other lakes and other places because of the low water levels, so now I feel like they're coming back and back on track with their family traditions."

Ed Berry and his family are enjoying the deeper water this summer. They come every year from Arizona to water ski.

"Water temperature is perfect," the Phoenix native said. "I can't believe it, probably 75 out there. I'm just guessing, but it's perfect. You get in and you think it's going to be cold because it's coming down from the snow. Nope it's not, it's great, perfect temperature."

Berry brought his family to check out how high the lake is while enjoying its highest water level in years, and that has business booming.
