CLOVIS, Calif. (KFSN) -- Ahead of the winter season China Peak Mountain Resort is looking to fill hundreds of seasonal positions.

The resort is holding a job fair in Clovis Friday and Saturday. From guest services to lift operations China Peak Resort is gearing up for the snow season looking to fill 300 positions. "There's a lot of hype over El Nino and with El Nino goes a lot of snow," said Rich Bailey, China Peak Mountain manager. That means big business for China Peak Resort and a busy season for Bailey and his crew.

"Last week you had quite a big rain event which fills in all the soil. It's the perfect conditions, the soil is filled with moisture, it freezes and it snows on top and you couldn't ask for a better combination," said Bailey.

Brothers Mathew and Jeffrey Castro are two of the dozens of job seekers who are looking to get hired. "We want to be up there full time all winter hopefully provide the customer service and the great experience for them all," said Mathew.

Coming off a couple of lean snow seasons, the resort is looking to improve it's bottom line with a flurry this year. "I know people are jonzing for it and I know we are. There's definitely a pent up demand and everybody with their skis and snow board want to go," Bailey stated.

China Peak officials plan to open by Thanksgiving weekend, but if mother nature cooperates skiers and snowboarders could hit the slopes before then.
