FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Uber ad will have you guessing where scenes were shot.

"I think people from Fresno will get a kick out of it and say hey, I know that location," said producer David Chavarria.

The spot follows a young man learning Spanish before he meets his girlfriend's parents.

Stellar Lense Productions is vying for the $10,000 grand prize. A win would shine a bigger spotlight on Fresno Filmmakers.

"To make a commercial for a national company on that level and to compete and to look as good if not better than everybody else's. I mean it says a lot. We've always been about trying to bring that kind of work locally," said Company President Orlando Gomez.

Fresno Yosemite International was not the location of the airport arrival scene.

"Saroyan Theatre provided us with our "airport," said Gomez.

Writer and Producer Danny Cameron came up with the concept.

"It does exactly what it's supposed to do. It tells a story in 90 seconds, the message is positive and you get a complete story," said Cameron.

Gomez remembers when Cameron made his pitch.

"This is the winning idea. They might as well print the check right now," said Gomez.

It comes down to online voting on Uber's YouTube page through the end of the month you can track the number of views but not the actual number of likes or votes.

"More so than just the votes, we're getting people who are actually liking the message and that's what's important," said Producer David Chavarria.

All 15 crew members and all 11 cast members are from Fresno so they hope Valley wide support leads to a happy ending.

You can vote for their ad with a "like" on their YouTube channel.
