Made In The Valley: Make Pie Not War Jewelry
A Fresno business is making a statement with its jewelry, showing up in magazines like Lucky and Wedding Style.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Inside the "Make Pie Not War" workspace, Alana Little is firing away at the perfect piece of jewelry.

"We specialize in taking something really personal to you and we make it really Modern and really pretty. Like something you want to keep and you want to wear," said Alana Little.

Little started making jewelry as a kid. Ten years ago, she quit her job as a corporate accountant. She made earrings and bracelets as a hobby until it boomed as a handcrafted business.

"I think people nowadays are craving individualism and with the handmade explosion happening, thanks to the internet, now we have platforms where we can sell," said Little.

Little sells everything from personalized bar jewelry with names and dates to rings and earrings.

"Everything is made from raw material, so I don't really buy everything premade. Everything is hand-cut, hand-polished."

It's all made from her studio at her Fresno home, just a few feet away from her kids. Make Pie Not War Jewelry is sold online through website Etsy, which features handmade goods and items.

The company has been featured online on retailers like Zappos, Martha Stewart, and even made a line that went into the Chicago Blackhawks fan store.

She's sold her creations all over the world and enjoys putting that made in the USA sticker on each package.

Little is the mother of three, including 9-month-old twins. She says is thankful to pursue her passions, jewelry, and motherhood, and connect with her followers.

"Instead of being just a brand, I can be a person and create a lifestyle for my customers so they can see what it looks like to really create their pieces and what my life really looks like being a mom, trying to juggle my kids, and juggle my orders," said Little.

Redefining a handcrafted and homemade business with a personal touch.
