MADERA COUNTY (KFSN) -- The River Park Golf Center site will remain open despite announcing they would close at the end of the year.

In October, the River Park Golf Center announced on Facebook they'd be closing after 19 years.

In the post, they said, "The Land was recently sold to our neighbor, Valley Children's Hospital, for their future expansion plans."

But, according to a press release from Valley Children's Healthcare on Wednesday, "the golf facilities on property recently acquired by the Hospital will continue operations under new ownership effective January 12, 2018. LPGA Teaching Professional Cindy Vining will operate Valley Golf Center - currently known as River Park Golf Center."

"I have grown up playing golf and know firsthand the values it teaches," says new operator Cindy Vining. "We are excited that schools and our golfing community will continue to have a premier facility to use for lessons, practices and events."

The golf center will also be open to the general public.

Valley Children's purchased the 59-acre property in September of this year. The healthcare network is currently updating its master campus site plan and the property will be incorporated into those plans.
