FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A fiery car crash in southwest Fresno on Thursday afternoon has left four people in the hospital.

The accident occurred at about 3:30 pm at S Thorne Ave & W Whitesbridge Ave.

A Camaro was traveling along Whitesbridge when it slammed into a pickup truck on Thorne as it crossed the intersection.

A nearby convenience store surveillance camera caught the violent crash, that sparked a fire in one of the vehicles.

Nearby residents say they heard the loud impact and rushed toward the scene to rescue victims as one of the vehicles burst into flames.

Fresno Police say the Camaro appeared to be going faster than the speed limit.

"It's incredible with the damage... wasn't worse," said Lt. Bill Dooley.

All four people involved in the crash were taken to Community Regional Medical Center in downtown Fresno.

They're all expected to survive their injuries.
