Merced playground closed after safety concerns

MERCED, Calif. (KFSN) -- City employees say the playground equipment at Applegate Park is more than twenty years old and has structural issues.

They are working on options to replace them.

A new layout for the park will be brought to the City Council on February 5th.

The city hopes to re-open the playground by late spring or early summer.
