The Tournament of Roses Parade did not disappoint as millions watched from around the world.

The 129th Tournament of Roses Parade did not skip a beat -- from the hundred plus member marching bands to the spectacular floats cruising down Colorado Boulevard -- the celebration seemed larger than life.

Lemoore's Kevin Patel and family got to watch their creation from the stands among the more than 700,000 people that lined the parade route.

They along with hundreds of volunteers designed the International Lions Club float with the theme, "Preserving Our Environment."

Patel says they were ready to roll at 5:30 in the morning.

Their float was made of all natural materials including thousands of flowers, lentils, flax seeds and rye.

For Patel it was more than the sights and sounds -- the smells were equally as pleasing.

Lions Club District Governor, Kevin Patel said, "All different kinds of roses and jasmine, so many flowers. I've never smelled this many things together."

Most important to Patel and family is the exposure their international non-profit received.

There are 46,000 Lions Clubs worldwide.

In addition to protecting our environment, Lions Club volunteers work to address global hunger, diabetes, pediatric cancer and various issues within their local communities.
