FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Christmas Tree Auction

The 37th annual Visalia Chamber of Commerce Christmas Tree Auction Fundraiser is on Friday night. Each tree is sponsored by a local business with proceeds going towards more than 30 nonprofits in the city. Volunteers have designed and decorated 14 different trees to be auctioned off live, the night of their event, which includes live performances, food and a silent auction. The event is being held at the Visalia Convention Center. Ticket prices start at $70.

Nutcracker Lively Arts Foundation

Local performers with the Lively Arts Foundation are preparing for their production of The Nutcracker. They have been rehearsing for the show every week since October. The group is made up of performers with different local groups. There are three different opportunities to enjoy their show at the Saroyan Theater Saturday and Sunday. Ticket prices start at $30.

ZooLights at Chaffee Zoo

Miles of festive lights illuminate pathways and giving the Chaffee Zoo a holiday feel. Enjoy live entertainment, festive treats, and beverages for adults and children and free photos with Santa Claus. The event runs every Friday through Sunday, as well as some select weekdays from five to eight p.m.

Christmas Story Trailer

Fans of A Christmas Story can watch the 80s hit at the Crest Theater downtown on Saturday night. This is an event that's happening, one night only. Tickets are just $5 each. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the movie starts at 8 p.m. You can pick up tickets at the door. Food and drinks will be available for sale.

Annual Swede Fest

The 17th Annual Swede Fest is this weekend. Thirty groups have recreated popular movies and TV shows for the festival. Some of the favorites include the Last Jedi, It, and Thor: Ragnarok. Swede Fest got its start in Fresno in 2008 and since then has expanded to several on the east coast and around the world. Swede Fest is on Sunday night at the Tower Theater. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the screening begins at 5:30 p.m. It is free to attend.
