Fresno State business students participate in pitch competition

Aspiring entrepreneurs are getting a chance to learn what it takes to launch a startup company.

Through the day on Friday, students participated in a "pitch competition." More than 200 students from community colleges around the Valley and Bay Area took turns with their "elevator pitches" as part of the event.

The "Community College Entrepreneur Pathway Pitch Competition" also features breakout sessions led by local student entrepreneurs. A panel of judges selects the top four students who will get to go to the national conference in November, and the overall winner goes to the national pitch competition.

The competition is part of a program at Fresno State meant to give students the skills they need to run a successful business.
