Fresno Unified starts school amid new construction
Some Fresno Unified school campuses are starting off the school year with new buildings and new construction.

FRESNO, Calif. -- Some Fresno Unified school campuses are starting off the school year with new buildings and new construction. Two swimming pools and a building have been built for students.

Several major projects were under construction this past summer, including new pools at Hoover and Edison High schools, new buildings at McLane and Bullard high schools, and a brand new high school near Ratcliffe Stadium in Central Fresno.

The Aquatic Center at Hoover High is a multi-million dollar project, not only for the school, but also the community.

All of the improvements are funded through Measure Q -- which has provided $175 million for projects since 2010.

The Special Olympics has plans for the pool, and kids with special needs will be able to learn how to swim there.
