Fresno Unified students take pledge to stay on track and graduate
Kings Canyon Middle School students and others throughout the Fresno Unified School District have taken a pledge to stay in school and stay on track to graduate.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- It's never too early to talk about graduation, which is why Kings Canyon Middle School students and others throughout the Fresno Unified School District have taken a pledge to stay in school and stay on track to graduate.

To help motivate the students, various colleges and universities from around the state were on hand Friday to answer any questions the students might have about higher education.

"When students make the pledge this early on, a pledge to themselves, a pledge to their families, a pledge to their teachers and their community, they own it more," said Principal Edith Navarro.

Teachers and staff at Kings Canyon Middle School shared their own stories of success after high school with the students.

Hundreds of students throughout Fresno Unified signed the "I pledge" during Friday's program.
