FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- It is moving day at the fairgrounds. The Big Fresno Fair which typically marks the last stop on the west coast fair tour closed out its 12-day run on Sunday. Vendors are hurrying to break down their exhibits and head home for the holidays.

"We'll have our final numbers in a couple of days but a monster day Saturday we had over 80-thousand people here and then yesterday we had 68-thousand so we finished very very strong," said Big Fresno Fair CEO John Alkire.

Vendors benefited from 12-straight days of great weather and six sold out concerts. Fabe's Gelato alone sold 15-thousand milkshakes during the fair, while more than 25-thousand corn dogs were consumed.

"Our concessionaires our partners are very very happy some of them said this is the biggest fair in the history of their business," said Alkire.

Families like the Magdaleno's, their family business leaves the fair on a roll after going through 30,000 pounds worth of flour to make their famous country fair cinnamon rolls.

"This is our best fair ever--in 39 years," said Augie Magdaleno.

Magdaleno visits 40 county fairs a year but says the Big Fresno Fair is one of his favorite stops on tour.

"The fair has done a great job the past couple of years making the grounds inviting for people. They've done a great job with the whole layout of the whole fairgrounds," said Magdaleno.

It is never too early to start thinking about the future. Fair organizers are already looking at what to improve on for 2018

"We have a list of things we need to improve on. We're not Disneyland but we can be as clean as and I think we were this year. We're going to working on tweaking a few little areas. We start the 2018 fair we'll be a little bigger a little better," said Alkire.
