Erin Andrews cancels Central California Women's Conference appearance
Organizers of the Central California Women's Conference were scrambling to find a new keynote speaker.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Organizers of the Central California Women's Conference were scrambling to find a new keynote speaker.

"Dancing With The Stars" co-host Erin Andrews had to cancel her appearance and won't make it to Fresno next month.

Andrews' cancellation caught conference organizers by surprise.

But on September 22nd, the day of the event, Andrews will now co-host a live "Dancing With The Stars" show.

CCWC marketing & development director Jan Edwards said, "We were disappointed because we think Erin is fabulous but we understand dancing with the stars takes first precedent and they added a live results show so what are you going to do?"

Erin Andrews' face appeared on all the programs and advertisements.

But this year's conference has posed many challenges.

Actress Viola Davis had to cancel in February because of a film she was shooting.

Edwards explained, "I think it speaks to the caliber of the talent that we bring to this valley. They are white-hot. They are doing great things so we will continue to bring those folks to the Valley."

Edwards said the wish list has quickly been narrowed down to three. "Basically television celebrities. They've all had hit television series and performers. Yes, so they are multi-talented. Women with a message though."

Over the conference's 28-year history, this was the first time a keynote speaker has canceled so close to the event.
