Exeter man arrested for trying to kill roommate

EXETER, Calif. (KFSN) -- In the South Valley, the Tulare County Sheriff's Department arrested a 54-year-old man for trying to kill his former roommate Saturday night.

Investigators say Juan Tapia went to an Exeter home and shot at his former roommate several times.

As the victim described the problem to deputies, witnesses reported new phone calls from Tapia in which he kept saying he still planned to kill the victim.

Deputies say they found Tapia in the Lindsay Area, still carrying the gun he used to shoot at his former roommate.

They arrested him on several charges, including attempted homicide.
