Woman gives birth to baby boy on Highway 198 near Lemoore

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A Central Valley mother named Perla delivered her own baby with the help of her boyfriend near Lemoore on Friday.

They were on the way to the hospital in Hanford just before 7 p.m., when they had to pull over on Highway 198 near the Houston Avenue exit. They called 911, and paramedics took her to the hospital as a precaution.

The mother's sister tells Action News mom and baby are both doing fine. The little boy's name is Matthew.
