New dance trend geared towards babies is hitting the Valley
The rhythm of the music gets babies and their parents up and moving

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The rhythm of the music gets babies and their parents up and moving.

Instructor Amanda Sciaaca, "We call it happy hour for you and your baby."

Sciaaca is one of the Valley's first Zumbini instructors. It was created by the founders of Zumba as a music, dance, and educational program for kids from zero to four-years-old.

"We work on cognitive skills, we work on rhythm and balance, we work on their emotional skills and our main focus is bonding with your child."

With each move, kids are learning skills.

Sciaaca was inspired to become an instructor because of her son Gibson. After spending time in the NICU, she had to spend time at home because of his chronic illness.

"I was that mom who sat at home with her kid and wished that I was getting to do the things that other moms were getting to do with their kids. I don't ever want anybody to feel that way."

Sciaaca said her Zumbini class is for kids of all ability levels. Now her son is doing just fine, she is glad his enthusiasm for dancing and learning helped her to bring this movement to the Valley.

"It's such a magical time and their child just feeds into it and everybody's so happy and having such a good time. Not only do the children look forward to coming every week, but the parents look forward to coming every week."

For now, Sciaaca is teaching her class at D & J's Dance Studio near Fresno State but has plans to teach in more locations.
