Reporter unknowingly covers her own engagement

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A former member of the Action News team received quite the surprise while on assignment.

You may recall reporter Shannon Handy, who left ABC30 to work for a station in San Diego. On Friday, she was given the task of doing a story on last-minute Valentine's Day gifts. But when she arrived at one of the locations to do an interview, the cameras turned on her!

Her boyfriend got some help from her co-workers to pull off the surprise.

Shannon said yes, and received even more good news after the proposal: she got the rest of the day off!
