Crowds line up for H&M clothing store opening in River Park
The clothing store H&M will open in the River Park shopping center at noon on Thursday.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Crews have spent months transforming the space that formally held the Borders book store in River Park. The clothing retailer will open at noon on Thursday. It's located in the former Border's bookstore in North Fresno. The store will carry plus-size clothing, along with men's and women's fashions, and a children collection.

River Park management is expecting long lines and plans to have extra security on hand for crowd-control. Officials with River Park said after Borders shut down three years ago, they began an online campaign to figure out which stores to move into the shopping center. H&M had the most popular response.

The grand opening is scheduled for Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 12 noon. The first 100 customers in line will receive an "Access to Fashion Pass" worth $10 to $300 in the store.
