Firefighters battling 2-alarm fire with HAZMAT danger in Central Fresno
The fire broke out at the Ace Aluminum Company near Abby and Olive Avenues just before 11 p.m. Firefighters say hazardous materials inside the building forced crews to take a defensive approach.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Firefighters are working to contain a large fire that destroyed a commercial building in Central Fresno Sunday night.

The fire broke out at the Ace Aluminum Company near Abby and Olive Avenues just before 11 p.m. Firefighters say hazardous materials inside the building forced crews to take a defensive approach.

Olive Avenue between Abby and Webster has been shut down while crews battle the blaze, and firefighters are urging residents to stay out of the area because of the hazardous smoke.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
