Sal's Mexican restaurant celebrates 75th anniversary with Selma block party

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Popular Mexican restaurant Sal's threw a huge block party today for its 75th anniversary.

Hundreds of people lined Park Street in Selma to celebrate the restaurant's success. There was live entertainment, games and of course food.

The original owner, Salvador Salazar, started the business in 1942. His daughter says this is a milestone he would be extremely proud of.

"The 75th year anniversary is really a testament to his hard work, my grandparents' hard work and the family staying in the business," she said.

Today is also Salazar's birthday. If he were still alive, he would be 91 years old.
