Sister of Fresno County man murdered in 2017 gives emotional plea to find the killer

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- It's an emotional plea from a heartbroken woman desperately trying to find her brother's killer.

"My mom is dying and my wish is for her not to do knowing someone is going to be held accountable for what they did to him," said Terri Kirkpatrick.

Fresno County sheriff's investigators say 54-year-old Arthur Martinez was murdered near Vineland and Belmont Avenues in Kerman in 2017.

His sister, Terri Kirkpatrick tells Action News he was staying at a home on the property with friends.

She was devastated to learn he was beaten in the head and left for dead at a place Martinez took shelter.

"If he only had a dollar in his pocket he would give to them," Kirkpatrick said.

For two years, authorities have had few leads, but surveillance video is helping them in their investigation.

"We have collected evidence surveillance," said Sgt. Brian Schulte. "I's just one piece of the puzzle we just need a few other pieces to pin it together."

That is what Kirkpatrick is hoping will happen.

"Someone needs to have some compassion and come forward," she sad.

Until then she will find comfort in a video of her brother. Happy moments coupled with recordings of daily calls and voicemails Martinez left to show he cared.

"It's your brother, give me call girl... Bye."
