FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Family members have now identified the victim of a fatal hit and run in Southeast Fresno.

50-year-old Candace Hinkle's daughter says her mother was killed last night while crossing the street.

Officials say they located 25-year-old Dashawn Anthony Collins just hours after the incident.

Crime scene investigators found evidence the woman was crossing a street near Clovis and Tulare when she got hit.

Officers say Collins got out of the vehicle after the crash, left it behind, and ran away.

Collins was arrested for the hit and run causing death and driving with a suspended license.

He was booked at the Fresno County Jail Saturday night.
