2 more women die from flu related infections, Tulare County health officials say

TULARE COUNTY (KFSN) -- According to Tulare County Public Health, they have received confirmation that two more Tulare County women under 65 have died from influenza A-related infection.

Influenza was also the cause of death for two other women under 65 who passed away earlier this month.

"It is with great regret that I am again informing the community of deaths from influenza," stated Dr. Karen Haught, Tulare County Health Officer. "The flu can have serious, life-threatening effects, including death; community members should get their vaccination as soon as possible."

Officials said individuals with flu symptoms, particularly those with risk factors such as those with health issues and children age five and younger, should talk to their healthcare providers about antiviral medication.
