Fresno's CRMC expanding pediatric services
Community Regional Medical Center is significantly expanding its pediatric services by this summer, according to the president and CEO.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Community Regional Medical Center is significantly expanding its pediatric services by this summer, according to the president and CEO. The hospital has signed a letter of intent with the UC San Francisco School of Medicine to increase the availability of pediatric specialists.

The new relationship comes after Valley Children's Hospital announced it would be ending its agreement with the Sante physicians group and its pediatric teaching program with UCSF.

UCSF Chief of Medicine Michael Peterson said, "We hope that we continue to work well with Valley Children's going forward and that this will just be able to expand the opportunities for patients as well as trainees in this region."

Peterson says they are exploring the option of bringing sub-specialists from San Francisco to hold clinics in Fresno, as well as using tele-medicine to offer virtual patient visits from the Bay Area.
