FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Valley Children's Hospital announced that over $535,000 was raised during the March 3rd event. They said that is a new record.

"We are humbled beyond words," says Valley Children's President and CEO Todd Suntrapak. "We are grateful to all of the volunteers who woke up in the middle of the night to sell newspapers. We thank the hundreds of thousands of people who showed us - one dollar at a time - how much they trust Valley Children's. We will continue to honor that trust every single day and strive to provide the highest standards of care for children throughout the Valley."

Since 1987, Kids Day has raised $7.3 million for "The Children's Fund," which helps Valley Children's provide the most advanced technology, recruit the best pediatric specialists, improve care and services for our most complex patients and develop the best pediatric specialty programs in the nation.

Kids Day is a partnership between Valley Children's, The Fresno Bee and ABC30.
