FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Monster trucks have taken over the Save Mart Center and thousands of fans will pack the house to cheer on their favorites at Monster Jam 2016.

Dreaming big is an understatement for 19-year-old Fresno-native Michael White.

"I've always been around motor sports," White said. "It's always been a dream of mine to be a monster truck driver."

Racing dirt bikes and quads since the age of three, his larger-than-life passion is leading him down an extraordinary career path.

"It was just a huge shock that my dream is finally coming true being on the road with monster trucks and working on them and being around it all," White said.

Now the Central High School West grad is closer than ever as monster trucks invade Fresno. You might want to keep your eyes on the pit, that's where White works as a monster truck mechanic.

"When I got the position as a mechanic I was like 'cool, I can learn how to work on the truck before I can drive it," White said.

Touring the nation with the crew, he works on two teams, El Toro and Max D. He's getting a little extra work after our ride along took the Max-D speedster to its max, but he says it's all in a day's work.

"When something breaks we have to get it done right there send it back to the floor," he said.

He says other than the support of his family, his motivation comes from the adrenaline rush in the pit.

"It's exciting truck starts up you're like 'yes, like I want to go out there too,'" he said.

Michael's only a few months in but he is gunning for that drivers seat so pretty soon we'll see a Fresno-native behind the wheel of one of these monster trucks.
