Homicide detectives working to piece together clues after teen shot to death
Police were called to an apartment complex parking lot at Clinton and Marks at around 10 p.m.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Police were called to an apartment complex parking lot at Clinton and Marks at around 10 p.m., Thursday night.

Officers and medical crews arrived to find a young man suffering from gunshot wounds-- but it was too late to save him.

"There is a number of difference factors we are looking into. It's not a puzzle that will be easily solved for the first few hours. It's important that we get this right a young man lost his life tonight and so we want to be very careful that we get all the facts and information correct," said Captain Burke Farrah.

According to neighbors, the victim would visit the apartment complex frequently but did not live there.

A stolen car with bullet holes was discovered near the body and taken as part of the investigation.

According to police, they believe he was shot at a separate location. Investigators are working with witnesses to identify potential suspects or any other people connected with the crime.

Fresno Police say the shooting appears to be gang related.
