Authorities say a butane honey oil lab explosion at Backer and Clinton avenues caused a large house fire.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Authorities say a butane honey oil lab explosion at Backer and Clinton avenues caused a large house fire.

Fresno Police say the suspect was making honey oil outside when it exploded on him. He now has third-degree burns on his face and arms and is being treated at CRMC.

Police say the suspect will be charged with arson and felony child endangerment due to children being at the home.

No one else was injured, but there was major damage to the garage. Firefighters say there were no working smoke detectors in the home.
