Judge rules there is enough evidence for murder trial in 2016 cane stabbing in SW Fresno
A judge has ruled there is enough evidence for a murder trial against a Fresno man accused of killing someone who refused to buy him a beer.

FRESNO, Calif. -- A judge has ruled there is enough evidence for a murder trial against a Fresno man accused of killing someone who refused to buy him a beer.

Police said Curtis Michael Davis used a weapon hidden in his cane to stab Bernard Jackson outside a Southwest Fresno market in April 2016. Witnesses said the two men knew each other but had an argument over the beer and Davis pulled out something like a sword from the cane.

Davis is due back in court next month.
