Man arrested for kidnapping girlfriend and 2 year old in Merced Co.

MERCED, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man is in custody in Merced County after he broke into his girlfriend's home near G Street and Gerard Avenue and attacked her friend.

35-year-old Emmanual Gomez then took his girlfriend and a two-year-old child into a car and drove away from the home.

Deputies later found them after an amber alert was issued for a toddler. The woman was treated for injuries and the child was unharmed.

The condition of the woman who was attacked in the home is not known at this time.

Gomez was arrested on several charges including kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon.
