Pedestrian killed in Firebaugh crash

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The CHP is investigating after a 54-year-old Firebaugh man was killed after being hit by a car.

Investigators say around 7 a.m. on Monday, 45-year-old J. Guadalupe Gasca of Mendota, was driving through a green light on Highway 33 at 13th Street when he felt an impact. He turned around and saw the pedestrian in the roadway.

CHP investigators say it was unclear if the victim was using the crosswalk. Drugs or alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the crash.
