Man hospitalized after driving into a tree in South Valley

VISALIA, Calif. -- Officers responded to a report of a hit and run accident near Atwood and Cypress just after 4:30 Saturday afternoon.

The vehicle had collided with bushes in a parking lot and then hit an oak tree after continuing down the road.

62-year-old Anthony Marquez was identified as the driver. It's not known if alcohol or drugs played a part in the collision.
