Man shot in the head in Central Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A man was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries after being shot in the head on Monday morning. Investigators with the Fresno Police Department said the shooting happened around 2:45.

Police got a call of a gunshot victim on 4th Street in Central Fresno. When officers got on scene they found a crime scene saying there was a gun and evidence of a gunshot wound. The victim had already been taken to the hospital where he was last reported in critical condition.

Investigators mentioned it appears the victim was shot once but are working to determine if more shots were fired.

Officers added they believe this happened inside a car.

Police said those involved are being cooperative and working to figure out what led to this shooting.

The victim's name is not being released at this time.
