Mariposa County deputy dies off-duty, cause of death unknown

MERCED COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) -- The Mariposa County Sheriff's Office is mourning the death of one of their own.

According to a statement from the sheriff's office, Deputy Michael King died at his home on Wednesday.

King had been with the department since 2006. He leaves behind his son, stepson and fiancé.

At this time, his cause of death is pending an autopsy.
