Local moving company using boxes to help those in need in the community
The Northwest Fresno company just started a campaign to help the community and their movers with Do Good boxes.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Employees at Meathead Movers spend a lot of time moving and packing boxes. However, some of these special "Do Good" boxes are giving them a greater purpose on the job.

"When you're moving it's so overwhelming. So what happens, we make it a little easier for or clients to donate these items that would normally end up in a landfill," said Ali Coleman, Meathead Movers Move Coordinator.

Coleman said the Northwest Fresno company just started a campaign to help the community and their movers with Do Good boxes.

Each box has special information so that homeowners know what kind of items they can donate.

The campaign started December 1st and gives back to three local non-profits.

"Reading Heart and we collect gently used books and movies. The second is the Community Food Bank and we collect canned food and non-perishables, and the third is the Fresno Bully Rescue where we collect canned pet food," said Coleman.

Coleman said the non-profits are looking forward to putting the donated items to use. She said it is a win-win for those packing and those who are receiving.

"What's better than when you're packing up and getting ready to move, you know, those canned foods you don't want to take with you, you just get them off to someone who will use them."

Each client will get a few boxes to start and movers can get more Do Good boxes to fill out.

Meathead Movers said they are looking forward to helping spread goodwill in the community.
