Memorial, highway dedication to be held for long time Clovis City Council Member Harry Armstrong
A memorial and dedication will be held Thursday morning for longtime Clovis City Council Member Harry Armstrong.

CLOVIS, Calif. (KFSN) -- A memorial and dedication will be held Thursday morning for longtime Clovis City Council Member Harry Armstrong. He passed away last month following an illness.

Armstrong was first elected to the Clovis City Council back in 1970 and was California's longest serving City Council Member before retiring in 2016. During his 12 terms as a councilman, he led the charge in building highways 180 and 168.

The Armstrong family will host a memorial and freeway 168 dedication at the Veterans Memorial Building on Fourth Street in Clovis. The memorial begins at 11:30 a.m., followed by the dedication at 12:30 p.m.

The event is open to the public.
