FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A Central Fresno church is out at least $10,000 dollars in music equipment after an early morning burglary. It happened at Millbrook Presbyterian Church on Millbrook and Redlands Avenues.

Cleaning up after thieves is becoming somewhat of a routine for music director John Kratt.

"This is part of the amplifier but they didn't take it because they don't know any better. These folks really didn't know what they were stealing," said Kratt.

This mess is from early Sunday morning when Kratt says people jimmied open a back door and stole thousands of dollars of music equipment. It's the third time in weeks and latest hit over a period of several years. "We're not a rich church. We really can't afford to pay thousands of dollars every time this happens. So I'm not sure what we're going to do but we'll get by," said Kratt.

Pastor Jerry Voss said the thieves took monitors, speakers, a projector and amplifiers. They have a security camera system already in place but they're planning on taking further measures to protect their church.

"We're grateful that the place wasn't set on fire. The damage could've been worse," said Pastor Voss. He works with many of the homeless and needy in the Central Fresno area and believes whoever took their equipment needed stuff to sell for drug money. None of the cameras on the property caught a good glimpse of the culprits but Voss says even this happened for a reason.

"These individuals are pawns in a much bigger game and so that's why you never condemn the individuals," said Voss.
