1 displaced after a fire in North Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- The flames broke out in a detached garage on Fir Avenue near San Pablo Avenue Saturday afternoon.

Firefighters said a man was living in the garage with the permission of the homeowner -- but he was at work at the time.

The garage and all of his belongings were destroyed, but crews managed to protect the main house. They said the garage did not have any working smoke detectors.

No one was injured, and the cause is under investigation.
