Person critical after being hit by vehicle in Firebaugh

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- A person is in critical condition after they were hit by a vehicle near Highway 33 and Saipan Avenue around 7 p.m. Friday night.

The Firebaugh Police Department responded to the call and found the victim and the offending vehicle at the scene. The person was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno for treatment.

The driver stopped at the scene and is being questioned by authorities.

There are no charges yet against the driver, and authorities are investigating if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the incident.
