Fireworks blamed for grass fire near Table Mountain

FRIANT, Calif. (KFSN) -- Firefighters have saved a home from going up in flames near Friant overnight.

The fire sparked on Sky Harbour Road near Millerton Road.

This is the second fire to ignite in the area within the last 24 hours. A state parks employee spotted the fire burning next to Millerton State Park and called it in.

The fire burned between ten to 15 acres. A home was threatened, but firefighters managed to stop it. Fire officials say the home is for sale and was empty when the fire started.

Officials believe fireworks are to blame.
