Man shot while riding his bike in Central Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. -- Police are searching for the suspects who shot a man riding his bike in Central Fresno.

It happened before ten o'clock last night at Del Mar and Terrace -- which is near Blackstone and Clinton. Detectives say the victim was riding his bike when a car pulled up nearby. The victim told police he had a bad feeling about the situation, so he took off running. That's when someone inside the car shot at him. He was hit multiple times.

Emergency crews rushed him to the hospital, where he is expected to survive.

"The victim called his female friend who responded to the area to assist him. She was the one to notify the department that her friend was involved in a shooting incident," said Lt. Dave Ramos, Fresno Police Department.

Detectives don't have a description of the suspects or car. They are trying to find a motive, but they say the shooting may have been tied to local gangs.
