FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Over 700 volunteers made their way through Clovis Cemetery Saturday morning, placing wreaths on the grave sites of veterans who died for our freedom.

The organization Wreaths Across America collects donations year-round to honor veterans during the holiday season. Over the last decade, volunteers have laid more than 700,000 memorial wreaths throughout the United States.

It's something Clovis has been a part of for the last four years.

"I'm just very passionate about our military and what they do for us and the sacrifice that they made," volunteer Linda Branam said.

The wreaths placed on the headstones are the same ones used at Arlington National Cemetery. This year, however, the local organization says they were about 100,000 wreaths short and are hoping that they can reach their goal next year.
