3.6 earthquake strike near Avenal, USGS reports

FRESNO, California (KFSN) -- The USGS reports that small earthquake struck about 7 miles northwest of Avenal, California.

The earthquake hit at 8:50 a.m. on Thursday morning. Several people in Avenal and Coalinga have reported feeling the quake to the USGS.
