The California Highway Patrol (CHP) says Patrick Holmes of Clovis was drunk when he lost control of his Harley Davidson on Auberry Road near Copper and crashed into three men riding bikes on Tuesday evening at just after six o'clock.

Holmes was driving north on Auberry Road when he veered off the pavement and hit the three riders while trying to regain control of his motorcycle. During the investigation, CHP officials say they found Holmes was under the influence of alcohol and was arrested on felony DUI charges.

All three bike riders were taken to Community Regional Medical Center with major injuries.

Holmes suffered minor injuries. He was treated at the hospital, then booked into the Fresno County Jail.
