FRESNO, Calif. -- Today vendors began the cleanup process following the fair's 12-day run.

Animals in the livestock area are headed to new homes while a large number of chickens have been donated to local charities that feed the needy.

Organizers say perfect weather and six sold-out shows helped make this year's fair one of the biggest yet.

"We'll have our final numbers in a couple of days but a monster day Saturday we had over 80-thousand people here and then yesterday we had 68-thousand so we finished very, very strong," said John Alkire, CEO of the Big Fresno Fair.

Organizers have already secured commitments to add three more signs next year to its iconic sign collection along the Paul Paul Theater.
