Home destroyed by fire in Southeast Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Firefighters battled a house fire in Southeast Fresno. It started just before five Thursday morning at a home on Lowe and Burgan.

Fresno fire crews said when they arrived they found smoke and flames shooting from the home.

According to fire officials, the homeowner and his pet made it out safely.

Officials said the home is a total loss.

It is not yet known what caused the fire but investigators said the homeowner was using some sort of kerosene device, which was part of the cause.
