Car stolen with two people inside in the South Valley

VISALIA, Calif. (KFSN) -- Two people are home safe after the car they were in was stolen by a suspect.

Visalia police say someone took off with a car with two people inside near Goshen Avenue and Plaza Drive.

Officials spotted the car and tried to pull it over. The driver refused to stop -- which started a high-speed chase.

During the pursuit, officers learned the driver had let the victims out before drivers had spotted the suspect in the car.

For an unknown reason officials canceled the pursuit but later located the vehicle unoccupied.

They are still searching for that suspect Saturday night.
