The Fresno County Sheriff's office is investigating a drive-by shooting in East Central Fresno.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) -- Fresno County Sheriff's Deputies are investigating a drive-by shooting that sent two men to the hospital leaving one in critical condition.

The drive-by shooting happened around 6 p.m. Sunday evening near Peach and Clay Avenues.

Deputies responded to a call of a shooting victim but when they arrived they found two men who are injured.

Both are believed to be in their twenties.

We have learned one is in critical condition and the other is expected to recover. Investigators say both victims were targeted by the shooter.

Sgt. Quintin Hawkins of the Fresno County Sheriff's Office said, "They were several houses apart so I think they were each targeted individually, one was sitting in a chair and one was walking down the street."

Deputies say the two victims do not know each other. They are still investigating what happened and say witnesses are not cooperating.

It is unclear if the shooting is gang-related.
