NYPD officer injured when driver flees scene in Midtown

NEW YORK (KFSN) -- Video captures the moment a police officer in Times Square is knocked to the ground by a car.

The driver of a four-door Mercedes sedan was reportedly doing donuts on 42nd Street when a police officer tried to stop them on foot.

The officer approached the vehicle and gestures to the driver but they quickly accelerate, taking the officer to the ground.

The officer was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No one has been arrested in this incident.
